About Rachel

Rachel is a Los Angeles native — born at Cedars-Sinai and raised down the street from the Grove before it even existed. She did a stint on the east coast for 6 years, which solidified her notion that California is far superior (at least weather wise), so she landed back in LA in 2013.

Regardless of which coast she lived on, Rachel has held a passion for writing from the get-go. Really, since she wrote her first Biome Book project in the 5th grade (thanks Ms. Barbara!). Though her dad dreamed she’d one day follow in his footsteps and become an engineer, Rachel ultimately decided to follow her gut, and received a degree in Journalism from Northeastern University.

After more than six years surviving Boston winters, she spent nearly six months backpacking and blogging her way across South America.

Since then, she’s worked as a skincare, health, and wellness editor at DAYSPA Magazine, a B2B publication for the spa industry and helped Dr. Sandra Lee (more widely known as Dr. Pimple Popper) launch an editorial brand and acne-focused skincare line. In 2019, she landed at proactiv, where she’s currently working as the sole content editor and copywriter for the world-famous skincare line.

Aside from writing and editing, Rachel loves traveling, exploring National Parks, reading fiction, running along the sand with her dog Simba at the Huntington Dog Beach, baking with her bright red Kitchen Aid mixer, doing puzzles, making lists, and can’t wait to get back to brunching with her friends on Sunday mornings.
